Do you judge a book by its cover?

Want to know why the volumes of Tales of the Fifth Guardian have the look they do?

There are a number of reasons my covers look the way they do:

~ The series is written in a journal format from the point of view of the main characters and each volume is desigend to resemble a journal.

~ A single symbol that represents each volume means that even the paperbacks can be read anywhere.

~ It also gives them a uniform look when they're sitting on a shelf or display.

This does not mean they cannot change or evolve, however, and I recently changed Tales of the Fifth Guardian; Book One: The Beginning, to reflect more of my original idea for the cover, including a representation of the clans in the story.
